ARE ANGRY (2025)
My video work “ALL THE WOMEN IN ME ARE ANGRY“ explores female rage—the collective anger of women in response to systemic injustice, discrimination, and patriarchal norms.
Women’s anger is often dismissed as “too emotional” or “irrational,” yet it is a powerful force for reclaiming voice, agency, and visibility. The title, inspired by Nayyirah Waheed’s poem all the women in me are tired, transforms collective fatigue into collective rage.
I used stop-motion mixed-media animation for its tactile, raw, and expressive quality. The intentionally imperfect, black-and-white frames emphasize movement, emotion, and intensity over aesthetic perfection, creating a symbolic rather than documentary experience.
The video is accompanied by “Von Dutch (A.G. Cook Remix)” by Charli XCX feat. Addison Rae. More and more female Artists like Charli XCX challenge the mask of the “nice woman,” screaming their anger, desire, and vulnerability into the world. Their raw, untamed feminism shows that chaos, rage, and intensity can be liberating and empowering—a spirit central to my work.
“All the women in me are angry” invites viewers to feel, acknowledge, and embrace female rage as a source of power, visibility, and liberation, turning private frustration into collective artistic force.
